Happy New Year from Bronsky Orthodontics

Friday, January 6th, 2012

At Bronsky Orthodontics the New Year is a time to look back to the past, and more importantly, forward, to the coming year. Our wish is that our patients continue to keep their teeth healthy, as well as wear their rubber bands, headgear and appliances as prescribed during their treatment.

We look forward to meeting those patients who are planning to begin their orthodontic treatment this year—we think it’s a great resolution!

Happy New Year from all of us at Bronsky Orthodontics!

Dentists, orthodontists … what’s the difference?

Friday, October 14th, 2011

“Dentists, Orthodontists, they’re all the same right?” We hear our patients asking this question as they wonder about the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist. Before becoming an orthodontist Dr. Bronsky started out in dental school and earned a DDS (dental degree), just like your dentist. After dental school however, Dr. Bronsky decided he wanted to learn more about orthodontics, which is one of nine specialties within the dental field. So he stayed in school for a few more years and became an expert in orthodontics, which focuses on tooth and jaw alignment and bite problems like overbites and under bites.

Other dental specialties you may have heard of include endodontic (focusing on the soft tissue inside your teeth), periodontic (focusing on the gums and other tissues surrounding your teeth) and prosthodontic (focusing on restoring and replacing damaged teeth).

Isn’t it nice to know there are complete dental experts here at Bronsky Orthodontics to help you through any type of treatment your teeth, jaw and gums might need?

Meet Dr. Moon

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Dr. Moon believes in living in the moment. Whether it is work, downtime or school – she attended Cornell University for her bachelor’s, the University of Michigan for her master’s and NYU for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree – she wants to make every minute count.

Her thoughtful approach fits perfectly with that of the practice – Dr. Bronsky was one of her attendings at Cornell Medical Center – and translates to her patients as well. “I try to treat my patients the way I would like to be treated,” she says. “It’s important to make them comfortable. I think it really makes a difference.”

But the thing that attracted her to orthodontics is her mind. “I’m analytical by nature,” she says. “I like the thought process behind my work. All the tools are there – it’s my job to come up with the solution.”

Music is viewed similarly. “I love that every time you listen to a song, you pick up on different things. I am fascinated by how all the different instruments and voices come together to make the whole feel and sound of a song.”

Much like a beautifully orchestrated smile.
