Phase I/Interceptive Treatment
When children have problems with jaw positions or tooth alignment during their growth stages they are candidates for interceptive treatment. An Ideal FoundationInterceptive treatment generally takes place between ages 7 and 12. This preventative phase utilizes orthodontic appliances to direct emerging teeth and improve jaw positions without harming the delicate roots of developing teeth. Phase I treatment often allows for the creation of a stable foundation for future treatments such as braces.
